Questions about the Program
The Summer 2025 Program runs from June 13 to July 19, 2025.
The First-Year Summer Academic Program (FSAP) gives a select group of students the opportunity to ensure their readiness for college, with a focus in their interest (such as STEM, pre-health coursework, humanities, etc.) as well as to improve their critical reading, writing, and study skills. Students attending FSAP may be among the first in their family to attend college or coming from high schools with limited AP/IB offerings.
On average, between 75-90 students participate in FSAP each year.
Tuition, food, housing, books and activities are all provided free of charge. FSAP will cover reasonable travel expenses for one round trip from your home address to campus and back to your home address. We will contact you in the spring regarding your travel arrangements. FSAP will only cover travel costs approved by the program in advance. We cannot reimburse students for any travel plans made without approval. Please do not book your own travel, the FSAP program will contact you to discuss travel booking arrangements.
All participants will take three courses: all students will take the College Transitions Seminar, and then a second course from one of the morning courses, and the third course from one of the afternoon courses.
YES, all courses taken during FSAP fulfill general education requirements.
Unfortunately, no. Since you’re completing semester long courses in five weeks, it is required that you be present for the entire program.
Questions for FSAP Participants
All participants will live together on campus in a modern, air-conditioned residence hall. Students participating in the program are required to live on campus for the entire program.
- Students may not have jobs because the program is a full-time commitment.
- Students may not have cars on campus while they participate in the program; transportation to and from FSAP events is provided.
- Please see the FSAP Student Conduct Agreement for more details.
Students will participate in many fun group activities during the program such as bowling, movie nights, the City Museum, Sky Zone, Demoball, Laser Tag, roller skating, swimming, game nights, a talent show, and BBQs.
Class attendance and some activities will be mandatory – but there will be free time for you to explore campus and the surrounding area.
It is helpful to have a laptop during the program. Please make sure to complete our FSAP Tech Readiness Survey here before you arrive.
Send an email to fsap@wustl.edu asking to be un-enrolled from the program.
